Marco Coppi, flute

After graduating from the “G. B. Martini” Conservatory in Bologna under the guidance of Giorgio Zagnoni, he began performing with repertoires ranging from classical to contemporary music and music bordering on different musical styles and cultures.

He has performed in Italy and abroad in national and international festivals and events: at the Teatro la Pergola in Florence, the Piccolo Teatro in Siena, the Teatro Bonci in Cesena, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan, the Teatro Arena del Sole in Bologna, the Rocca Malatestiana in Rimini, the Teatro Comunale in Bern, the Palazzo dei Congressi in Locarno, the Landeskonservatorium in Innsbruck, the Palazzo dei Congressi in Cannes, the Gibellina Festival (Trapani), the Montalcino Festival (Siena), the Sant’Arcangelo di Romagna Festival, the Santa Maria Nova Musica Festival (Jesi), the “Emilia Romagna Festival”, the “Nuovi Rinascimenti” Festival in Urbino, the Santo Stefano Festival in Bologna, the Reus Music and Performance Festival (Spain), and the Music/Art Festival in Amsterdam.

He has toured in Chile, Argentina and Patagonia (Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Bahia Blanca, Mendoza, Ushuaia, Viedma, Mar del Plata, Rosario).

He recorded the CD "Sovrapposizioni" (Swivels) with the Full Quartet (classical/jazz) (Stiletto Libero publishing). Works for flute and string orchestra from the Italian Baroque repertoire with the "Arcangelo Corelli" Chamber Orchestra of Romagna conducted by Aldo Sisillo (ArteMusica publishing).

He has collaborated as a soloist, among others, with the Filarmonici del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, with the Florence Symphonietta, with the Senzaspine Orchestra of Bologna, with Il Divertimento Musicale of Parma, with the Trio Broz of Rovereto.

He combines his concert activity with a path of research and experimentation, collaborating with actors, dancers, poets and visual arts professionals to create multimedia performances that he has brought to various European stages as a performer, author and director.

Since 2008 he has been artistic director of the 'Paradiso Jazz Festival' in San Lazzaro di Savena - BO, Italy

Gianni Landroni, guitar

Having graduated with top marks from the “A.Tonelli” Conservatory in Carpi under the guidance of Maestro Giuseppe Gandolfi, he was chosen as an active student in the advanced training courses held by maestros Alirio Diaz, Vladimir Mikulka and Hopkinson Smith.

In 1997 he graduated with top marks from the “Royal Philharmonic Academy” in Bologna, obtaining the recognition of “Honorary Censor” of classical guitar.

Winner of several competitions, including the one in Recanati, he obtained second place at the Bardolino international competition, the first special mention at the Mondovì international competition and third place in the “Chamber Music” section at the Stresa international competition.

In 1987 he was named 'best young performer of Emilia Romagna', and held many concerts for the 'Italian Musical Youth'.

He performs concerts in Italy and abroad (Germany, Austria, England, Switzerland, France) as a soloist, in duo and with instrumental groups “Arti Fiorenti di Bologna, Collegium Musicum Università”.

In November 2001, chosen by the French consulate, he held some concerts as a soloist in France in honor of the bicentenary of the “Hospitaliers de la Moselle” obtaining important consensus from the authorities.

He also distinguished himself as a composer of works for solo guitar, two guitars, guitar ensembles and soundtracks for short films, winning the award for best music in 1991 with the film “Il Belpiangente” and in 1995 with “Staude”.

In 2014 he held a concert for Prince Albert in the Principality of Monaco.

In 1999, his first album, "Omaggio a Paganini," was released on the "Tactus" label. In December 2002, his second album, dedicated to Christmas, was released with the "Armonie Capricciose" ensemble, for which he also composed the arrangements. In August 2003, he recorded as a soloist for RAI (Italian Radio). In 2005, with the "San Filippo Neri" choir of Bologna, he recorded and composed the harmonizations and arrangements for the album "Ojos de Cielo" for the "Roda Viva" label.

Some pieces from his repertoire were selected and broadcast on Christmas Eve 2010 by Radio Vaticana. In May 2011, he recorded a CD for Radio Vaticana, featuring music from the 18th century to the present day, as well as original compositions.

In May 2014 his second solo CD, “Ritratto”, was released, featuring music from the 16th century to the present day.

He also composed the incidental music for “Alice in Time”, an evocative reinterpretation of the famous cartoon “Alice in Wonderland”.

He worked with actor Ivano Marescotti on the project “Italy ’800 words, images, sounds from a nation”.

Tiziano Barbieri, double bass

At the end of the 1960s he joined some historic groups of the Bologna music scene, in particular Judas and the Tombstones.

During the same period, he met Jimmy Villotti, with whom he performed countless concerts over the years. He wrote much of the lyrics for the rock opera conceived by Villotti himself, who also composed the music: "Julius Caesar, Music for a Stage General."

He played with Lucio Dalla, Ornella Vanoni and Francesco Guccini.

He participated in the recording of Francesco Guccini's album 'Metropolis'.

He collaborated with Paolo Conte and recorded the album 'Appunti di viaggio' for the singer-songwriter from Asti. He played with the 'lawyer' for a long time during the years of European tours, the video 'Paolo Conte ad Amsterdam', and the live album 'Paolo Conte live in Canada'.

He worked in recording studios for many years.

With Sergio Bardotti he made an album for Sergio Endrigo.

He recorded the CD 'Angeli' as a soloist, published by Virgin- Stile Libero, with guitarist Moris Fabbri.

The C.D. 'Town Quartet', guitarist Moris Fabbri, saxophonist Claudio Capurro, cellist Marie Francoise Pelissier.

Together with pianist Luciano Titi, he wrote and composed the music for the installation by Japanese sculptor Susumu Shingu at the Milan Triennale.

In 1995, for the De Agostini publishing house, together with pianist Luciano Titi, he composed and produced the musical scores for one of the home-video series 'Le Bellezze del Mondo'.

He is the author of the music for the quartet Le Train Bleu.

Production director and responsible for part of the programming of the emerging Vinicio Capossela.

Stage director for Ivano Fossati and Fiorella Mannoia.

Production director for the Italian tour of Caetano Veloso and Cristiano De André.

He participated together with the cooperatives 'La Pera' of Stefano Ferri and 'Harpo’s Bazaar' of Oderso Rubini in the creation of 'RITMICITTA’', which had the CLASH as guests.

He created the contemporary music festival 'Isole del Suono'.

He founded Bologna's first true Jazz Club, the 'Music Inn', with guests such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Bill Frisell, Sam Rivers, Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Brian Auger, Enrico Rava, Chet Baker and dozens of other great musicians.

He created the 'Jazz In Teatro' review.

He was responsible for the production and organization of the nascent 'Bologna Jazz Festival'.

He founded the cultural association 'Orno Teatro'.

Since 2020 he has dedicated himself to composition, with particular reference to the creation of the music of the quartet Le Train Bleu.

Roberto 'Red' Rossi, drums

A drummer, percussionist, and composer, he initially studied Latin American percussion techniques with Puerto Rican percussionist Daniel Barrajanos (Ertha Kitt), later deepening his knowledge of Brazilian percussion while traveling throughout Brazil. This exploration led to his own set, which features drums and traditional Afro-Brazilian percussion instruments. He subsequently worked with the group Zabumba Company in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Together with Brazilian guitarist Roberto Taufic, he held a workshop on Brazilian rhythms in Natal, Brazil.

His extensive experience in various musical styles such as jazz, funk, rock and blues has allowed him to develop great versatility and expressiveness on his very own instrument and to collaborate with Italian, Latin American, Afro-Cuban, African-American and African artists.

For more than ten years he was part of Rosalia De Souza's group (R.Taufic, Sandro Deidda, Antonio De Luise, Giancarlo Maurino) performing extensively also outside Italy (Japan, United States of America, Sweden, Portugal, Bulgaria, Poland, Madeira Island).

He has performed in some of the major Italian and international clubs and theatres and has participated in festivals and events:

He has held seminars in schools and conservatories, in Castelfranco Veneto together with Daniele Santimone and Silvia Donati and currently at the G. B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna, Italy.

As a composer he worked with Banda Favela (Steve Girotti, Angelo Campagna, Maruça Rodrigues), Arcoiris (Silvia Donati, Giancarlo Bianchetti, Davide Garattoni, Maurizio Piancastelli, Andrea Olivi) and Velho4 (Roberto Rossi).

He is currently part of Maria Pia Devito's quintet with Taufic, Mirabassi, Warren with whom he recorded the album Core/Coraçao.
